So once one has recuperated from an illness, however mild, what is the most sensible way to start up training again? If someone were to ask me that question, my advice would be to ease back into a training schedule slowly. Unless, of course, we’re talking about me. Which explains why, a mere 12 1/2 hours after I left the gym last night, I was facing my smiling reflection in the mirrors by the dumbbell racks once again. For some reason, it seemed incredibly important to me to get back on my regular schedule as quickly as possible. It seems like there may be more than one lunatic in this family after all.
But I felt great, and my workout went well, and I do not have one iota of regret! Shoulders and arms today, and esteemed-trainer Michael worked out with Todd and me, which I always enjoy. It never fails to amaze me how heavy he lifts, and, as little as I am, I’m not exactly a slouch – especially compared pound to pound with most people. But… Mike most definitely isn’t most people, and watching him lift is just plain fun!**
