Well, it’s official. Doug is the racer in the family – but I’m not exactly a slouch, especially when you consider how recently I restarted my running career.
My results:
Distance: 5 K (3.1 miles)
Time: 32:40.9
Pace: 10:31
Standings (compared to runners wearing timing chips in my age group, 50 – 54): 26th of 54; top 46%
Standings (compared to all runners wearing timing chips): top 40% of all females; top 52% of all runners (all ages, both sexes)
Doug’s results:
Distance: 5 K
Time: 25:13.2
Pace: 8:07
Standings (compared to runners wearing timing chips in his age group, 50 – 54): 15th of 76; top 19%
Standings (compared to all runners wearing timing chips): top 33% of all males; top 17% of all runners (all ages, both sexes)

great work! but methinks that the calibre of the women exceeded that of the men which puts you in much higher standing comparatively speaking—just sayin
Now I think if you could have eaten some turkey testicles before the race, just think of what you could have done…..
You know, you just might be on to something. A little extra testosterone just might do the trick…
Congratulations on the fast times! We have been doing the Turkey Trot here in Dallas for years – my job is to get the runners to the start on time (though now we are down to one runner). My blog entry on the Turkey Trot:
